Tour of the Thames (from Greenwich to the Tower)

In Greenwich, where the world-famous observatory proudly stands, a visit is essential in order to admire the panoramic views of London. From the hill on which the observatory is located, you are treated to an uninterrupted view that allows you to take in many of the famous sites of this magical city. Greenwich is also famous because the zero meridian line that passes here – this line is where east and west meet, similar to the equator that divides the north and south of our planet. In the old buildings of the observatory there is now a museum containing astronomical and navigational instruments. Many tourists flock to zero meridian where you can stand, strike a pose and have your picture taken at this famous point.

OPENING HOURS - 10.00-17.00 (entrance closes at 4.30 pm)  PRICE OF TICKETS: adult - £7, concession (student, pension) - £5, child (6-15 years) - £2 and children under 5 years are free of charge.

The Tower was built in 1078 and in 1190 the first prisoner was incarcerated in the fortress. The Tower was designed to hold high ranking prisoners and prisoners of the Monarchy. Contrary to popular beliefs, only seven executions occurred within the walls of the Tower. Among those executed were three queens: Anna Boleyn (who failed to produce a male heir to the throne), Catherine Howard and Jane Gray. Since the first years of its existence, the Tower has accumulated all sorts of rumors and legends. Throughout your tour of this famous fortress, you will be regaled with tales of that will have your skin crawl and your hair stand on end! With luck, the crown of Elizabeth will be on the display in the museum, allowing you to see the famous 105 karats diamond Kohinor.

Opening hours in summer (from 1st March to 31st October): Tuesday - Saturday 9:00 - 17:30, Sunday - Monday: 10:00 - 17:30. Working hours in winter (from 1st November to 28th February): Tuesday - Saturday: 09:00 - 16:30, Sunday - Monday: 10:00 - 17:30. Annually, from 24th to 26th December and 1st January, the Tower of London is closed. To visit the Tower it is recommended to take at least 2 - 3 hours.  Admission: Adults - £24.50, children under 16 £11, tickets for students and pensioners £18.70, family ticket (2 adults + 3 children) - £60.70.
