Cardiff, the capital of Wales, is the historical, commercial and cultural centre of the United Kingdom. Archaeological findings, made in the vicinity of Cardiff, show that life here began to boil about 5 millennium BC. The city will easily please its guests with a wide variety of attractions. You can visit the huge Millennium Stadium (near which is the eponymous cultural and entertainment centre), the magnificent Castle Cardiff, the National Assembly of Wales, the music hall of Saint David, the Pirnad-Bildin and, of course, the majestic Cathedral of Llandaff.
Cardiff Castle is the oldest building in Wales, built on the site of a former ancient Roman fortress, or rather, its ruins. At first, the castle was a city fort, then a judicial institution, and then somehow imperceptibly passed into the ownership of the local aristocracy, which inherited it for many centuries. The last owner of the castle was the Marquis of Bute - a coal tycoon who turned the fortress into a beautiful Victorian mansion in the Gothic style with a great many rooms and rooms, each with its own specific design. Inside the castle is a museum with a rich historical and archaeological collection of exhibits, and the building surrounds a large beautiful garden.
